I approached @mild.therapy about crafting a leather dress to complement Jean-Marie DELAVALLE’s oxidizing iron sculpture. Using a single piece of leather, Raphael fashioned the dress, employing laces created from its excess material. Drawing inspiration from pottery-making aprons, the dress is fully adjustable and reversible. Merci Raphael 🤎

@lignes_de_fuite and his amazing team pitched me the concept 'Le nombril du monde,' which translates to 'the navel of the world' or the center of it all.
With the assistance of @cindynero.ca we selected garments from design students, each with its unique voice. We then layered these pieces on @mea.nne , starting from the edges and spiraling toward her navel, finishing with a Swirl jewelry piece from @gooey.jewelry , selected by @_eliza_isabel_ . All this done in 1 hour while laughing, singing, taking selfies and dancing.
This creation reminds us that fashion is not just about clothing; it is a reflection of our values, beliefs, and our ever-evolving connection with the center of our universe—the individual.
But also emphasizes the strength of community and working together as artists to express ourselves.
As we embrace our individuality and that of others, the future of fashion promises to be as diverse and vibrant as the world itself.
Sincerely, Chat GPT
