My Job:
I am a DJ, otherwise known as a Disc Jockey.
I play music for a crowd at venues for the entertainment of the staff and clientele. It is my job to introduce you to new music and allow you to relive older songs you may have forgotten in order to hopefully make you forget about all your worries in life for a couple hours and enjoy the night.
We (DJs) although seem like a mystery blurred figure of your memories, are indeed real people. Please treat us such. We are not iPods you can scroll through and pick from. We are not jukeboxes you don’t give money to and get to pick from. You may request music from us if we allow. But do not expect it to be instant, and do not get aggressive if we do not have what you’re asking for. We have allot with us, but not everything ever created.
Onto our equipment; a full setup can run us up to $6000 or more quite easily. Please (and I cannot stress this enough) do not touch our shit. Do not pick up our headphones. Do not touch our faders. Do not touch our decks or speakers in any fashion. If you would like to and the DJ is nice enough, you MUST ask beforehand. (I have thrown people out for doing such things without permission)
Tonight has proven that people forget these things.
Sincerely,
You’re friendly Neighbourhood DJ
