I remember when Pst Mrs Gomba-Oyor was very young, her birthdays were no joke. The gifts, decoration, family and friends and most importantly, THE CAKE must be present. As she grew older, the love of birthdays spread to everyone around her. “It’s mum’s birthday! What are we doing? Who’s getting the cake…”
Growing older, the love evolved into celebrating family, loved ones and community. “Let’s have dinner as a family.” “Let’s watch this movie as siblings,” she’d say.
Fast forward to today, Pst Mrs is now a mother and a leader of congregation, a flock, and is still keeping the vibe strong. But I’m happy to see her now being celebrated more than she possibly can do for everyone. 😄
