Cimatario Fuexu Recordings presenta, sin ninguna acritud, las Primeras Canciones de Javier Villegas, cinco temas que exploran todas las sonoridades que pueden dar de si una voz y un saxofón. Como si de un Colin Stetson mesetario se tratara, Villegas consigue crear una música inquietante y melancólica.
Grabados en analógico aprovechando la reverberación natural de una iglesia, los cinco temas bailan entre el minimalismo y el jazz de una forma libérrima. Pocos artistas son capaces de hacer tanto con tan pocos elementos, de ser a la vez sutiles y conmovedores.
