A bit of a trip down memory lane tonight – right back to the very beginning of J Austin Designs in 2019. Building something I could only dream of from our kitchen worktop 🥹
Who remembers the early days of me working from the kitchen and doing a deep clean every night? Or when I had to batch cook the week before a wedding so that we didn’t need to use the oven as it would have affected the flowers?
I owe so much of that initial chapter to the big push I received from my lovely friend @haarlem_bridal . I wasn’t even looking for a studio space, but one was presented to me at the Mill.. it was an opportunity far too good to miss!!
Fast forward to now, and I get to create wedding flower magic in a space that feels truly inspiring. Life at the farm brings constant improvements to the buildings around me, beautiful lunchtime walks, and nature all around – something I never take for granted.
This wedding season is our busiest and most exciting yet, and sometimes I still can’t believe I built this from scratch!!
As I’ve also captioned on the pictures, I owe so much to my favourite person @fouldsmikey – without him, the pictures wouldn’t be on the walls, the backdrops wouldn’t exist, and the heavy lifting definitely wouldn’t get done. I’m so grateful 🫶🏼

I’ve finally been able to take some time for a proper reset in the studio. I feel genuinely grateful for this space! This week has felt transformative in terms of how I see the space and how we will use it, moving forward 👏🏼😍
I’m also so thankful to be trusted with so many of your wedding flowers. This week has been incredible for new enquiries, bookings, and final details coming together beautifully. There is so much to be excited about!
