As a longtime fan of James Dean’s, I had always wanted to make it out to Fairmount, Indiana, and visit the town he grew up in, from age 9 until moving back to Los Angeles after High School. Thanks to the kind folks at the @thejamesdeanmuseum , I was able to visit the Winslow family farm where Dean lived for those ten years. Incredible property. And in this photograph, made while standing inside the barn Dean had hung a basketball hoop for practicing (the hoop is still there as it was), the beautiful farmhouse is seen in the distance. Dean’s room was top left window. Stunning, idyllic farmland out that way. And I would highly recommend a visit to the JD museum.

I had a wonderful experience making pictures in Oklahoma in 2018, as commissioned by Tulsa’s @philbrookmuseum for a 2019 exhibition. Coming early 2026, OK/BW, the first of two Oklahoma books I’ve been working on for 2026 and 2027. OK/BW will feature black-and-white photos, with OK/CL to follow, featuring color photos. Preordering details to come. Photo: Tulsa, 2018

Mr. Frank Gohlke to my left, Saturday night at the opening of our exhibition ALTERNATIVE VIEWS at the wonderful @ethertongallery in Tucson. I highly recommend paying a visit to the gallery and viewing Frank’s stunning original darkroom prints made by the man himself. Incredible images from the legendary American photographer, and one of my favorites going back a long time now. An absolute honor to be showing alongside him. Thank you Terry and Shannon for having me, for your enthusiasm and support, and for hosting such a perfect opening reception. The show is up through January 17. #FrankGohlke
