🤍 Everything is Going to be All Right
How should I not be glad to contemplate
the clouds clearing beyond the dormer window
and a high tide reflected on the ceiling?
There will be dying, there will be dying,
but there is no need to go into that.
The poems flow from the hand unbidden
and the hidden source is the watchful heart.
The sun rises in spite of everything
and the far cities are beautiful and bright.
I lie here in a riot of sunlight
watching the day break and the clouds flying.
Everything is going to be all right.

Looking back at the premiere of Boomverzen!
Boomverzen was composed as a musical meditation on the life cycle of a tree as a metaphor for human life.
I wrote the meditation and performed it together with my sister Mira.
We wanted to explore themes like community, loss, renewal and connection in a way that felt profound but playful. Introspective, and yet encouraging a deeper connection to the outside world.
The music might’ve been composed, but it felt like I was just guiding the audience’s ears towards the trees.
I couldn’t have imagine a better setting! It felt like the wind and the birds and the leaves were all playing with us.
You can hear ‘Boomverzen’ again during @novembermusicnl 🍀
Thankyou to all who made it happen 💚 Mira

The occasion? The upcoming premiere of her new composition Boomverzen, for which she was awarded the Keep an Eye Production Prize 2025.
📍 Premiering on 4 July at @wonderfeelfestival — a magical setting for this intimate and powerful work.
Congratulations, Jasmine — we’re so proud to see your voice take on new form.
