2025 | A General Rock n Roll Lifestyle
An excellent year. I am in the world’s greatest band, and in the greatest songwriting partnership since Lennon/McCartney. My job and hobby are the same thing, and you will see the names of me and my pals on the television. In terms of carpentry, I am third behind Jesus and Darren. My New Year’s resolution is to stay humble.

2025 | On The Piss.
Some excellent pubs and events this year, including a spontaneous and incredible beer festival in Wroclaw. The best beers I had were Drogone Lambic (2022) by Cantillon, at Little Swift in Margate, and Crypt Witch by Holy Goat in Ghost Whale in Brixton.
2025 | Care of Magical Creatures
Lost a best boy, gained a feral beast. Met some excellent pals in the wider animal kingdom. Rescued a pigeon called Baby Frank who not only survived but thrived.
2025 | Gigs
Seen some incredible stuff this year. Highlights are Oasis (obvs), CMAT at Bedford Esquires (not pictured), Self Esteem at the Duke of York Theatre. But I saw 84 bands and I have a spreadsheet to prove it. That LCD Soundsystem one was bloody warm.

A silly song about wanting a beer basically, probably written when I fancied a crisp one. Was also the first song we wrote under the name “chub rub”, so will always be special to us.

JOHN’S GONE
On Wednesday 17th April 2024 John Gibbons made the daft decision to leave Chub Rub. Little did he know by sending his leaving message to the band he would go on to write the lyrics to his first song, his final song, this song.
As he prepares to get married this weekend to his lovely fiancée, and be gone forever, we share our love letter to John. Drummer, Sparkie & Ex-bandmate.
