To me… the most memorable and rewarding part of painting portraits isn’t the portrait itself. Instead, it’s getting front row seats to the moment you connect with my art 🥹😭♥️ It fills my heart all the way up. It encourages me to hone the skills and continue learning. Hello, hello! It’s Dori, the calligrapher and artist behind Jars of Clay Calligraphy ✍️ My purpose and love is to create deeply meaningful pretty things with ink and paper. This takes form in calligraphy art and watercolour portraits 👩🏻‍🎨 A few months after my son was born, I created the “love like a mom” collection to celebrate a new love I was learning and experiencing as a first-time mama. Don’t miss the last clip for cuteness overload 😍😍😍 Engraving on detangling combs 🪮 Back in February @houseoflagree reached out about a collab and now we’re kind of really obsessed with each other! We realized we’re a perfect fit because we both like to do things that haven’t been done before. I mean… just look! We made detangling combs on brand 😘 So, you know our upcoming collabs are going to be one-of-a-kind and so sooo good! The next one is coming up on May 20. If you’ve secured your spot, see you there! To me, it wasn’t just engraving for 4 days. It was making something into a meaningful, one-of-a-kind keepsake. And as a sentimentalist, that’s what I love the most about doing live art. So grateful 🥰

Painting at a PALS market by @helloprettymarket 👩🏻‍🎨 I absolutely LOVED seeing all the meaningful interactions happening all around me! I especially noticed many grown up daughters bring their moms, and treated them to some very pretty things from quite a few vendors 🥹 Personal highlights: My friends visiting me 🫶 @the.cookie.house.yeg put me on a cookie! @twisted_charcuterie build your own box 10/10 @bigbearmatcha.yeg making the best matcha all day. Loved the Berry Bumble! @shingeescreations with the most irresistibly cute squishies and being super encouraging to the next generation of crochet artists @august.lindsay.author adding some spice @houseofkovai sharing her beautiful, colourful designs @adventuredoughyeg playdough station made the kids feel right at home! @shopelchapeau making one of a kind hats 🤩 @studio.1016 fitting perfect bracelets @melissasfloraldesign build your own bouquet! I was so happy to add freesias to mine - they were in my wedding bouquet so they always feel special 🥰 Near the end of the day, I painted a few vendor booths because they just looked so good! And now I’m low key obsessed with these miniature booths and can’t wait to do it again 😍 I also overheard multiple referrals from shoppers to their friends who just got there, even vendors to shoppers! It was so heartwarming to witness that kind of love for small businesses. Today was a lovely day ☺️ Thank you for being a part of it! I got to paint @farmer_daughter_toy_shop today! Whimsy at every corner of the space… it was such a lovely place to be 😍 Thank you for having me + for introducing and connecting me with your community! I loved painting some very special portraits that will be gifted on Mother’s Day, and shopping for just the cutest little baby gifts! I was the luckiest person to get to paint tiny portraits in the Cat Palace @cheerycatco today in support of @cheerycatrescue All the kitties were on their best behaviour; they were very distracting and interrupted me the whole day in the cutest ways possible.
