these past ten or so years have been cruel and unfair to you, but you never lost your sense of humor or goofy spirit, even if it was hard to see some days.

happy birthday mom. no instagram post or caption can properly express how much i miss you, but here’s my best shot.
when i dropped out of college and moved half way across the country to make music and perform with my friends, everybody thought i was crazy, except you. i was naive to the unconditional love and support that can only come from a mother, and would do anything to be able to feel that again.
after you passed, the number one thing i heard from your friends, even from people i barely knew, was how proud of me you were. you were truly my biggest fan, and i’m sorry i didn’t make myself more available to hear that from you.
i love you mom. i know i didn’t say that enough and i know that i’m pretty shit at expressing my emotions, but these past seven months without you have made me realize how important you are to me. i hope to continue to make you proud.
