The 🐐 Leslie and I had the pleasure of seeing George Strait for the fifth time last night. A Texas icon, no one in entertainment does it better than The King. He played so many of the hits, and added in songs by Tom Petty and Waylon Jennings, too. Sitting there live and listening to Amarillo By Morning is among life’s greatest experiences. What’s your favorite George Strait song?

Nineteen years ago today, I asked Leslie to marry me. Since that day, we’ve built a life together rooted in faith, family, unshakeable love, and a shared commitment to serving others. Three amazing kids later, I’m even more grateful for the woman who has stood beside me through every challenge, every blessing, and every season of life. Happy engagement anniversary, Leslie!

During National Police Week, we honor the brave men and women who put on the badge each day to protect our communities. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to serving others do not go unnoticed. Texas will always stand behind law enforcement and the officers who keep our families safe. Thank you to every officer serving across House District 106 and throughout Texas. We proudly back the blue.

I’m proud to endorse Jim Wright for reelection to the Texas Railroad Commission in the Republican Primary Runoff. Conservative leadership matters, especially in statewide offices that directly impact Texas jobs, energy independence, and our economy. Jim Wright understands that Texas energy powers America. At the Railroad Commission, he has worked to keep our oil and gas industry strong, push back against unnecessary federal overreach, and promote fair, consistent regulation that allows Texas producers to thrive while protecting our land and resources. Texas needs leaders who will stand up for the hardworking men and women of our energy industry and keep Texas the energy capital of the world. Jim Wright is that leader. Early Voting is May 18–22. Election Day is May 26.

Great spending part of the morning at Career Day at Clear Creek Intermediate in Sanger ISD visiting with students about public service, leadership, and the many career opportunities available right here in Texas. I always enjoy talking with the next generation and encouraging young Texans to work hard, stay curious, and pursue careers that allow them to make a difference in their communities. Thank you to Clear Creek Intermediate for the invitation and for all you do to invest in our students’ futures.

Wishing a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and mother figures across Denton County and Texas. You selflessly put your families first and quietly make sacrifices that often go unseen. We are grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you especially to Leslie for the love, wisdom, patience, and strength you show every day, and the values you instill in our children. We love and honor you.

For the first time in nearly a decade, natural gas generation projects in ERCOT’s interconnection queue have surpassed wind — and one of the biggest drivers is the massive wave of AI and data center investment pouring into Texas. Unlike wind generation, natural gas can provide reliable power regardless of weather conditions or time of day. The market is making it clear: reliability matters. The Legislature recognized this need and took action through the Texas Energy Fund and other reforms to encourage more dispatchable power generation and strengthen grid reliability. Now we’re seeing the results, with gas generation projects surging across Texas. This chart tells the story. Texas is building the reliable energy infrastructure needed to power the future and support continued economic growth.

Today, I was honored to join fellow Texans at the 75th Annual National Day of Prayer in Denton County and offer a prayer for our nation, our state, and our communities. As America approaches her 250th birthday, it is more important than ever that we come together in faith, humility, and gratitude for the blessings of liberty we have been given. Drawing inspiration from a 1793 proclamation by John Hancock, we prayed for wisdom for our leaders, peace within our borders, protection of our freedoms, and the strength to uphold the moral and Christian virtues that have guided this nation since its founding. May God continue to bless Denton County, the State of Texas, and the United States of America.

Today, Americans across the country are observing the National Day of Prayer. Faith has always been a guiding force for families, communities, and our nation. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve a state and country where we can freely live out that faith and our Christian values. Please join us in praying for America, our children, and our future. And may God continue to guide and bless Texas.
