It should come as no surprise to anyone that ‘97 Flood is my favorite local band. So, when they sent their EP over to write a review it was like I was a kid unwrapping a gift and seeing a Gameboy Color box. Although inside that box was a pair of underwear, which is something I could have used when putting on ‘97 Floods EP Places on a Side Road on for the first time, iykyk. It was even better than getting a Gameboy Color. I couldn’t even count how many times I have already listened to this EP, but even when I’m not listening to it, it’s playing in my head on repeat. ‘97 Floods groovy Midwest Screamo will make you say hallelujah with their raw and powerful layered vocals, hard hitting guitar tones, smooth bass, and drum beats that drive each song with dynamic high-octane passion. Truly the Chuck of all Chucks.
