WIP update on the Novohradské Hory farmhouse renovation project: floors and walls are (99%) finished, now comes in the furniture and light fixtures. We utilised pine plywood panels for the kitchen floor and chose a lime-based screed for the heated floor above in order to match the lime stucco wall finishes. We spent the holidays preparing detailed drawings of custom furnishing for the main room so production can start on time by mid January. The sections reveal transformation of originally very simple single purpose space into one that can accommodate three to four primary functions (living room, occasional bedroom, kitchen and dinning room).

Work in progress: Tea ceremony training space in Prague. The design is a reaction to need of radical transformation of the existing space ambience and lighting by means of simple intervention. We borrowed one of the archetypal elements of Japanese Sukiya (tea house) architecture: the round opening, and turned it into its own opposite, a partition blocking direct view towards the window, blurring the perception of depth.
