A combination of light painting and anamorphic drawing.
The drawing is my anamorphic installation in the Purkutaide 2025 exhibition in Helsinki.
The exposure time for this was whopping 79 minutes, phew!
Not the easiest one to create, had to plan the lighting for 4 hours!

Janne Parviainen - Dialog
An anamorphic installation at the Purkutaide: Parempi maailma exhibition in Helsinki, Finland.
As the visitor walks along the path, he sees how the original observations of the work change. Like many of the truths in the installation, people's opinions are also based on perspectives shaped by their environment and life situation. In a better world, things can be discussed through dialogue. Dialogue requires sufficient safety. Safety is created through appreciation. Appreciation is built on the ability to look at things from other people's perspectives and accept them as subjectively true.

The World tree
The installation represents the coexistence of humans and nature in perfect harmony.
The World Tree is often identified with the Tree of Life, and also fulfills the role of an axis mundi, that is, a centre or axis of the world. It is also located at the center of the world and represents order and harmony of the cosmos.
The installation is exhibitet in the culture house Stoa from 20th of December 2024 to 7th of January 2025.

Maailmanpuu
Teos kuvaa ihmisen ja luonnon yhteiseloa, ilman että kumpikaan on toiselle alisteinen.
Maailmanpuu on myyttinen puu, joka sitoo taivaan ja maan yhteen tai kannattaa taivasta. Maailmanpuu sijaitsee maailman keskellä. Se on siis eräänlainen maailmanpylväs. Puu tunnetaan monissa kulttuureissa myös elollisen luonnon tai koko maailman vertauskuvana tai rakenteena. Vanhan sanonnan mukaan ihmiset ovat kuin lehtiä elämänpuussa.
Teos esillä Kulttuurikeskus Stoassa 20.12.2024 - 7.1.2025.

After two years of hard work, it is finally ready!
My latest graphic novel Susitaival (in Finnish only) is available at suistobooks.com!
Susitaival is a collaboration with my brother Pekka Parviainen Visual Artist, and was much fun to create!
Susitaival (Suisto, 2024, 206 pages) is a comic story by Janne Parviainen and Pekka Parviainen about the realization of a long-term dream, brotherhood, ageing and nature experience, as well as the unstoppable change of the climate around us. The story covers a five-day hike along the Susitaival wilderness route in Eastern Finland. Janne, who suffers from panic disorder, and Pekka's thoughts, darkened by people's nature-destroying attitude, gain a new perspective during five days in the Finnish wilderness.

Susitaival (Suisto, 2024, 206 sivua) on Janne Parviaisen ja Pekka Parviaisen sarjakuvakertomus pitkäaikaisen haaveen toteuttamisesta, veljeydestä, vanhenemisesta ja luontokokemuksesta, sekä ilmaston vääjäämättömästä muutoksesta ympärillämme. Tarina kattaa viiden päivän vaelluksen Itä-Suomessa sijaitsevan Susitaival -eräreitin varrella. Paniikkihäiriöstä kärsivän Jannen ja ihmisten luontoa tuhoavan asenteen synkentämän Pekan ajatukset saavat uudenlaista perspektiiviä viiden päivän aikana suomalaisen erämetsän siimeksessä.
