Jannah is a very personal documentary I am directing about my dad and his incredible story of his early life and his family's life in Iraq. My family was torn apart by the Ba'ath regime and I want to show how it affected what remains of my family. Through my dad's recollections and reflections of all the events that happened I hope to make a powerful and moving documentary that can serve almost as a memoir for my dad.
This has been a project I've been wanting to make for a very long time. I really wish that I can honour my family, those with us and no longer with us.
