If you told younger me that one day I’d be featured or interviewed in articles for doing nails and creating art, I wouldn’t have believed you.
This path wasn’t traditional, and there were a lot of moments where I questioned whether leaving 13 years in a corporate 9–5 was the right choice.
But milestones like this always make me wish my dad could see this chapter of my life. I hope he’s proud of the person I’ve grown into and the courage it took to choose a different path.
2 years ago I decided to quit the 9–5 and dive into doing what I love. Whether it’s creating nail art, designing unique sets for my clients, or educating students, I’m truly so grateful for everyone who has helped me get to this point.
This isn’t the peak for me yet, I’m still working on my craft, and there’s never an end to learning. But thank you for being part of my journey.
I carry the Lau name with pride.

I’ve been feeling really inspired and encouraged lately seeing all the support for my Chinese-inspired designs 🥹 Whether it’s inspired by old Hong Kong cinema, Chinese dramas, or cultural aesthetics, it’s been amazing seeing not only the Chinese / Asian community connect with my work, but people from all different backgrounds too.
It makes me proud to be Cantonese-speaking and proud to show my culture more openly through my art.
Most creators stick to one language, meanwhile my brain is just chaotic Hong Kong Cantonese mixed with English LOL 😭 My Cantonese is very 香港人 ABC mumbo-jumbo 💀 so this was my first attempt at making Cantonese content and it’s definitely not perfect HAHA.
But seeing everyone connect with this side of me honestly makes me wanna embrace my culture more openly through my content and creativity this year.

真係令我更加覺得，作為一個識講廣東話嘅香港人，能夠將自己文化融入創作係一件好值得驕傲嘅事。
大部分創作者通常都只會用一種語言創作，但我個腦就成日係香港式廣東話＋英文亂咁 mix LOL 😭 我啲廣東話都有少少 ABC mumbo-jumbo feel 💀 所以今次都係我第一次真正試下做廣東話內容，未必係最好 HAHA。

As a Chinese artist born in Hong Kong, I’ve always felt like nails were more than just nails to me. They’re identity, personality, and self-expression.
A way to turn memories, culture, film, texture, colour, and emotion into art.
