We wrapped up Les Arcs on Tuesday evening at the Industry Village closing ceremony. Since 2021, 22D Music has been awarding a prize dedicated to supporting the creation of original film scores! This year, the Award goes to A Happy Family, directed by Jan-Eric Mack. The jury composed of Emmanuel Delétang, 22D Music Founder and CEO (France), Margot Hervée, Head of Sales & Acquisitions at Paris-based Totem Films (France), and Chloé Thevenin, music composer and artist, highlighted the director’s strong musical vision, stating: “The director convinced us with his approach to music and the importance given to the soundscape in the film. The score done by a multi-instrumentalist artist will give a fun and inspiring ground to create the depth necessary to accompany the character's trajectory, that of a woman embarked on a social dramatic road trip.” In addition to this, a special mention went to A Day in the Life of Jo: Chapter Phaedra by Greek director Jacqueline Lentzou, praising the film’s sensitivity and sonic ambition: “We were enchanted by the director’s vision, her réflexion on the role of music, of sound design and her research work which will be essential to accompany the narrative's shift with subtlety and intelligence.” We warmly congratulate the award-winning team and are proud to support filmmakers and composers who place music at the heart of their creative process.
