I get a dm after every post about inclusive language or missing the mark with my phrasing. And that’s all good if my goal is to preach to the choir. But my goal is to reach somebody who is on the fence, it to give you the language to do so,
People swear I make this content to impress women. That’s because so much of what they do is to impress other men. That’s really not how women work, bruh.
I know it’s about Meg Thee Stallion. It’s about women needing to meet a purity threshold before you consider them worthy of respect and protection. And that’s dangerous.
Boys have few healthy conversations about sex and relationships outside of classrooms. Well-meaning adults are hesitant to engage in those conversations, whereas creeps and predators are eager. The result is generations of boys normalizing language that was put into our vocabulary by people who hate and victimize women.
Folks are going to argue with this because it’s like telling a fish that it’s wet.
When there’s news of an online forum where men exchange tips on how to drug and sexually assault their wives, and a woman expresses outrage that there are 62 million men involved, my job is not to say, “Well, actually…”
My job if to listen, affirm, and commit to making sure boys and men humanize and respect women.
The bottom line remains the same. So let’s address the bottom line.
