2024, you've been so good to me.
You showed me that there is always a lesson to be learned, even in moments of uncertainty and discomfort.
You've reminded me of my resilience and that I am worthy of love once I allow it in. And when that love overflows, I am worthy of every drop.
You've shown me who God truly is and what he isn't. You've shown me my weaknesses and the areas I still need to grow in. But I smile even in the midst of it all because I couldn't have gotten here without letting go of who I once was.
I want to tell everyone that the girl they knew no longer exists. She's been reborn, transformed into a woman learning to let her light shine and take up space, making room for the woman I've always dreamed of being and who has always resided within the room of my mind.

August is almost halfway gone. I've been catching up on monthly book club readings and books I'm midway through, but I couldn't pass up on celebrating Black August. Pulled from Wikipedia, Black August is “an annual commemoration and prison-based holiday to remember Black political prisoners, Black freedom struggles in the United States and beyond, and to highlight Black resistance against racial, colonial and imperialist oppression.”
While I'm currently moving, I stumbled upon my copy of ‘Assata,’ which I purchased precovid—divine timing in its discovery.
I'm curious to know if you ever heard about this Hoilday or what book you'll be reading to commemorate. S/o to @yespleasebooks for sharing graphics related to Black August. Without it, I would still be oblivious that this holiday even exists. ❣️
