Jay wearing his iconic leather Adidas track. This piece was in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame exhibit for quite some time! It’s been in storage the last few years & we decided to give this community a chance to share in the joy we get from pulling it out from time to time. That being said it’s up for auction with @wax_poetics live now.
Bid on Jam Master Jay history - direct from his Collection - at waxpoetics.com. Ends May 10. Check out a brief history of Jay's influence on the iconic look of Run-DMC.

@rundmc adoption of Adidas marked the first major intersection between music and a sportswear brand. This leather iteration reflects the evolution, moving from cotton tracksuits to elevated, premium versions that came to define their iconic look and long term partnership with the brand.
According to JMJ’s family, only a very small number of these tracksuits were retained. Many of his apparel pieces were either donated or given away after his passing, making surviving examples from his personal wardrobe scarce. This particular tracksuit was deliberately preserved as part of a small group of his personal items. It lived in the Rock & Roll hall of fame after their induction up until 2019.

Jay was an innovator. Finding 50 Cent and making his Debut project was one of many accomplishments he had with JMJ records. This album never had an official release but introduced 50’s voice to the industry. The original promo vinyl press is being auctioned now with @wax_poetics (link in bio)
