Where it all began. Wow, it’s been a journey!
I was born in White Rock, BC, a small coastal place that shaped a big part of how I see the world. From there, my journey into design has been anything but linear. It led me through years of learning, waiting, creating, doubting, and rebuilding, all eventually culminating in the honour of designing and winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup Vancouver Host City poster. But between those milestones were many moments where I felt like I was stuck in the sand, treading water, just existing in limbo, watching life move around me while I tried to understand my own direction, even when situations and environments were considered already so beautiful.
There were times I had to wait for opportunities, because the path I wanted was already occupied, or simply not ready for me yet. And in that waiting, I’ve slowly come to realize something I wish I understood earlier: life doesn’t just come to us, we meet it with intention, presence and a willingness to offer something back to the people, the places, and even the living systems around us. It doesn’t matter what your gift is or what your trade becomes, what matters is that you use it to help others in some way.
Peaks and valleys are real, but believe in the snowball effect, prepare for the climbs, and understand the weight of the hill you’re on. Take in the view when you reach the top, but when you can, don’t forget to carry someone else with you, because we’re stronger together.
Much love.

The 70.3 IRONMAN Victoria is in two weeks. ✨🤩✨@ironmanamericas
Both racing and designing the finisher medals, for my third consecutive year for this event, means more to me than most folks know. 😊🏅🏅🏅
This race is extremely taxing, physically and emotionally. 🫠😢 I pray 🙏🏼 for an injuring free 1.9km 🏊 90km 🚲 and 21.1km 🏃♂️ My calf is currently sensitive from my avid soccer playing 🫣 so I’ll have to now shift my training to the pool and gym.
My deeper reflections:
To me, this race is a reminder that commitment matters more than perfect circumstances.
Life will always throw challenges our way in training, relationships, and personal growth, but through hope and consistency, peace comes, knowing that we truly gave it our all.✨❤️
This Mother’s Day reminds us that a mother’s arms are often a child’s first home, and her love remains one of the most powerful and enduring forces in the world.
If we lose connection to our mother and/or loved ones, please know this.
Love does not end when someone is no longer physically present, it continues through memory. The teachings, shared laughter, quiet moments, and the strength they helped grow within us.
Sometimes loss and grief can and will feel heavy, but may you find comfort knowing their spirit can continue to guide you forward with love, courage, gratitude, and hope. ✨❤️✨
About this painting:
I made this original painting in 2015, entered it into the Peace Hills Trust Art Contest. The painting sold during the Art Show they hosted (which was vastly supportive to all of the artists who submitted pieces). It’s hard to see, but I also used metallic bronze paint on the eye brows, lashes and hair strands. I love peppering in those fun artists touches/details.

Artist Statement for Waiting, Taking Action, and Hope
This series of murals (right to left) follows the quiet and meaningful journey of a heron as they/he/she moves through waiting, transition, and the emergence of hope. Each panel is created to reflect emotional stages that many people experience during times of uncertainty and healing.
The story begins in Waiting, at the edge of quiet water where a heron stands with a loved one nearby. The day is soft and still. The water holds emotion like a mirror, and the heron waits patiently. A dragonfly circles above the surface, its wings catching the light. It is a small presence, yet it carries the promise that change is already on the way. Nothing is rushed. The heron simply breaths and listens to the world settling around them/him/her.
In Taking Action, the moment of stillness opens. The heron spreads its wings. The water below ripples as their/his/her feet lift away from the place where they once stood. The dragonflyrises with the heron, keeping pace as they move across the shifting waters. The journey ahead is unknown, but each wingbeat carries intention and courage.
The story moves into Hope, where the waters fall behind and a new landscape reaches forward. Light gathers. Warmth begins to touch the earth. Flowers open with gentle colours, rising from the ground as if welcoming the heron’s arrival. A hummingbird appears, small, brilliant, and hopeful.
Together these panels tell a story of waiting, moving and arriving, honouring the quiet bravery that shapes every path of change.

✨My Newest Skateboard Creation✨
In my mother’s Kwakwa’la language, the seal is called Migwat.
Along the coast of British Columbia, harbour seals and sea lions are known for their curious, playful nature, often bobbing their heads above the water to watch people, surfing waves, and lounging together on rocky shorelines. For generations, they’ve remained an important part of west coast ecosystems and coastal culture across the Pacific Northwest.
