To say that I’ve been having a great year is an understatement! I’ve made it to @forbes y’all! Special thanks to @forbestheculture for selecting me as part of the inaugural #50ChampionsList. This list recognizes 50 individuals who work to uplift Black and Brown communities across the country. I don’t do the work that I do for recognition, but it certainly feels amazing for my work to be seen and recognized. It makes me realize that I just have more work to do. There are so many GIANTS on this list! People who’ve I’d admired from afar and have so much respect for. To each of them, THANK YOU for all that you do. Your work continues to fuel me and our communities are BETTER because of each of you. Special shout out to @rashaadlambert for co-creating a platform to highlight Black and Brown people. From the work you’re doing with @forbes , @forbestheculture and @culturemakersinc , you are a gem in our community. Thank you King. Lastly, let me give a big shout out to my company @sayyesbuffalo . Being with this company literally changed my life and it has given me a platform to be able to tell stories about removing barriers to educational attainment. When @kamalaharris first announced she was running for President back in 2020, I firmly supported her candidacy. At the time I felt that she was the best person to lead us after the previous four dark and tumultuous years under Donald Trump. While she didn’t prevail as the nominee, Joe saw what I and so many others saw in her, someone with fight, tenacity and would be a great second in command and support the agenda that a majority of people in this country support. While I’ve had some challenges with her, particularly her fading into the shadows of the presidency over the last 3 and a half years and not being bullish on communicating the many wins of this administration, I still believe that she is the best person to lead this country. Especially considering what’s at stake if Trump wins and the Project 2025 agenda gets implemented. That said, I proudly support Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States. I truly hope that people begin to understand what’s at stake during this election. Every four years we hear that the election of that year is the most consequential election of our lifetime. This is unequivocally, undoubtedly that, without question. If we sit idle and not exercise our right to vote, the freedoms we enjoy as a democracy could quite possibly be over. Let’s work to ensure that doesn’t happen and work to ensure Kamala wins in November. #KamalaForThePeople

One thing about @cthagod that I appreciate is how he not only shows up for his people, but how genuine and sincere he is about providing platforms for those he sees potential in. @tamikadmallory ’s first book State of Emergency was the first release from his publishing imprint and here we are, several years later with him still riding with her on her soon to be NY Times best selling memoir I Lived To Tell The Story. Thank you for believing in her the way so many of us do. . . Brother you are necessary for our culture! Thank you for all that you do!

Today, we remember. On this anniversary of the 5/14 tragedy in Buffalo, I’m opening up The Pod Hub as a space for community reflection, healing, and storytelling. Today, anyone from the community is invited to stop by the studio and record a short video sharing their thoughts, feelings, memories, prayers, hopes, or reflections surrounding this day and what it means to our city. This project is called Reflections. No scripts. No pressure. Just real voices from real people. Because our stories matter. Our healing matters. And preserving the voices of our community matters. Financial Wellness Education Month. Let’s tell the truth… Nobody is self-made. I don’t care how good the story sounds. Every win has people behind it. Every level has sacrifice attached to it.
