You Don’t Come Back the Same

Happy Birthday Nancy ❤️
Anyone who’s ever met you says it right away how kind you are, how easy it is to feel comfortable around you, how genuine you are.
And every time I just smile because I already know.
You have this way of making people feel seen and taken care of without even trying.
You make the people I care about feel cared for and that means everything to me.
It’s one of the many reasons I’m so proud to be your partner.
We may end up in different places, but we’ve always been on the same side of it.
My Teeemmate.
My home.
Love you every day.
Happy Birthday
The road goes on forever.
26 years of making this spring migration north.
Same pull. Same horizon. Different version of me each time.

But somewhere between sunset and those first Alaska peaks, the noise quieted.
Alaska has a way of calling you back.
And for me, answering that call is part of the work.
Second half of the season begins now.
Stopped in at @baldfacelodge for a mid-season reset.
World-class riding, even better humans.
Exactly what I needed to refill the tank for what’s ahead.
Thank you all and I hope you have a great rest of the season
When tragedy hits the mountains, the loudest voices are rarely the ones affected the most.
I’m choosing not to step into the noise and writing about why that matters right now.
