A perfect @jonathan_drake14 skid sequence on the final stage of @rallyofthevoyageurs 2026. At least it was perfect for me because of that nice back side movement that angled the car towards my shutter. Shot at 1/50th of a second just cause. Only the top of the car is in sync with my panning due to the rotation action on the skid, but it's all good, I like the speed sensation vibes this shot gives off. On an added note, the dust rooster tail action was sublime this weekend. Thanks to the local dusters that came out the previous weeks and loaded the course up with lots of unexpected dust. You are hidden heroes of rally. #crcrally #rally #skidz

CF-18 demo team went out with a bang in 2024. My favourite flying experiences were the rain delayed Saturday shows in Trenton and Gatineau. The vape action was sublime both times. Sure I had to wait around, but that wait was rewarded with some sick flying action.

My F-22 fever dream. Crinkles for days, that's why I zoomed out a bit during this air skid manoeuvre. I wanted to fill my screen with the delicious, calming waves of jet wash. This moment was caught a couple of years back at Airshow London. Only got the wing tip in focus. Oh man!

The Lufthansa 100th anniversary special edition livery presented to you in Fujifilm Classic Neg. A beautiful take on commemorating a century of flight for Lufty. Awesome colour choice, expect when you are trying to control chromatic aberration in your edit because the main colour is so close to the blue/pruple shift you sometimes see in extreme contrast areas in your photos. All good, just did a little colour overlay layer action in Photoshop to control where there was some weirdness in high contrast areas.

Best burner tail action I've caught on the F-22 (so far). From a couple of years back at Vape Fest Canada (AKA Airshow London). And, look at that patina! Mmmmmmm. So tasty.

I dig the vibes on this shot of the F-22 Demo Team. There is so much distortion from the vape that most of the plane looks out of focus. At least that left wing tip is sharp though! The clouds were so low and dark that the F-22 Saturday afternoon performance at @airshowlondon felt like the evening. Cool vibes, hard for shooting. 1/1600 SS at 2000 ISO. I’m so gonna get fired from the Old & Out of Touch Planespotter Society.

COBRAAAAAAAA! Every time I saw the Cobra A-10 perform, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Cobra Rattler from GI Joe. Destro would have loved a real A-10 instead of that sorta looks like the real thing clone he had to settle for. Wanna know my biggest beef with GI Joe as a kid? The fact that before a vehicle was shot down, the pilot/driver always escaped. I thought it wrecked the reality of the show. I was too into Star Wars at this point. Now, I appreciate that the show producers did this. YO JOE!

Everybody’s gone vapin’ Vapin’ Y.Y.Z. A nice looking Korean Airlines A350-900 coming into Toronto on the muggiest day of 2026 - so far. Shot backlit, but that’s okay because the clouds were dark and really diffusing the light. 24R morning landings can be tough to get a good spot and the dark clouds helped me pretend like it was an afternoon landing.

II love technical proficiency. It is the basis of much of my life's work. I also love dirt, junk, wear and tear, patinas, and moments/stuff that are just about to fall apart. My perfect aesthetic is the juxtaposition of highly technical aspects balanced with decay. There’s noise in this photo, but there’s life and movement. It’s on the edge, just about to fall apart. That is life - no matter how much time we put into things. This CF-18 was caught at Aero Gatineau-Ottawa in 2024. RIP CF-18 Demo Team.

The brief moment that is life. You've gotta reach out to grab it and make those days, hours, minutes and seconds count. Enough pep talk. How about a backlit Cathay Pacific 747 cargo hauler coming into YYZ? A true moment for sure.

More graphic design experiment than photograph. I called this file "DSC2045 Fool Around.psd" when I was making my edits. I really had no idea where this would go. I just wanted to goof around. What did I do? I cleaned up the chromatic abberation around the high contrast areas on the F-35 using a color overlay technique. No matter how good your lens, you will always get a bit of that dang yellow/purple cast CA on photos. I cut out the plane manually because the subject selection masks in Photoshop and Lightroom always leak and leave a lot to be desired with their lack of sharpness and irregular selections. DETAILS MATTER DUDE(TTE)S! To complete the exercise I added a feathered overlay/color mod around the edges of the plane to blend everything with the background. It was way more work than I normally put in to a photograph, but again this is a graphic design experiment. This F-35 air skid was captured at Luke Days Airshow 2026.
