For the 6th issue of Sky Blue, La Douce France, we had the rare opportunity to visit and film the Villa Windsor, located in the western Parisian park of Bois de Boulogne. Known for being the residence of Wallis Simpson and the self-abdicated King Edward VIII, the home was purchased by Mohamed Al-Fayed in the 1990s with the intention of housing his son Dodi and Princess Diana. Sadly, the couple perished in a car accident near the Pont de l’Alma in Paris on the same day they visited the estate. In 1998, all the belongings and furnishings of the house were sold at auction. Since then, the house has remained unoccupied. The Fondation Mansard, which recently acquired the home from the now-deceased Al-Fayed, plans to open it as a museum.
