When I tell you I am shocked. The same screenplay lost three other fellowships / festivals completely this week, only to advance in one of the most prestigious ones out there (that I completely forgot I had applied to). I’m especially proud that I did it with a horror comedy script. And I was sitting home sick with viral bronchitis this morning - feeling prettttttty sorry for myself - when I got the email.

In addition to stand up and acting, I found my voice as a screenwriter these past couple years. It’s extremely gratifying to be on this list after so many MANY hours spent alone at a computer going totally insane in Final Draft.

Real talk, jealousy is a hell of a drug. My Compare-and-Despair Demon is always yammering on. Some days I tune it out and ride my own kickass wavelength. Some days I drown in it. But it hasn’t convinced me to give up yet! And some days, the “not giving up” is all I have to hold onto.
