Happy Easter folks! Always felt like this piece was a bit festive. And proof that even a violinists have a shot at redemption. Yes that’s a viola. No it’s not mine.

Hey friends. It’s (probably) over. I wanted to let everyone know that the surgery you all generously crowdfunded happened today. It’s such a relief and it felt like a strangely significant moment when the surgeon said “right, I’ve just removed the drain from you”, and then “that’s it, I’ve closed it all up”. Something that’s been sticking out of my body for the last half a year, and it’s gone. Here’s a ‘before’ photo only because the ‘after’ look is really not a good one. I look like a green-tinged ghost. The surgeon was really happy with the results, but I’m not gonna lie, being awake whilst they rummaged inside me for 2 hours was not the greatest experience, but it’s better than hanging around for another 2 years in the same situation. Check-up in 6 weeks to really be sure of the result. I am going to be hanging out at a friend’s place in SE London until I’m up for the journey home. If anyone’s nearby and feels like watching a shite film, drop me a message and I’ll tell you where I am. Thanks from the bottom of my heart and the heart of my bottom for all your support. Love to you all.
I tried to take nice sentimental photos of the kids but they kept acting like absolute pillocks. Guess you can’t escape genetics. Really lovely illuminations though at Welford Park. 10/10 recommend.
