Two days to go! #TakeActionToPreventSuicide by donating at jamesplace.org.uk/action before midnight tomorrow (link in bio). 💙 When someone is in suicidal crisis, the environment they walk into matters. At James’ Place, men are welcomed into a calm, non-clinical space that feels safe — a place where they’re listened to, understood and supported as individuals. Our therapists help men like Darek and Rich find their way out of suicidal crisis every day. We can't do this work without you. Donate to James' Place before #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek2026 ends tomorrow! #MHAW2026 #SuicidePrevention

When James was in suicidal crisis, he asked for help but couldn’t find the urgent support he needed.   Like James, many men find themselves suddenly in crisis after challenging life events. Like James, these men are at a very high risk of taking their own lives but often cannot access support quickly enough.   Every death by suicide results in a lifetime of devastation for families, friends and communities. James’ Place stops men dying by suicide. We take action quickly, providing free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men, usually within two working days of referral. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek2026 ends on Sunday. There are just three days left to #TakeActionToPreventSuicide by donating at .uk/action (link in bio). 💙 Help us be there in time, so no one has to face a suicidal crisis alone. #MHAW2026 #SuicidePrevention

This #FundraisingFriday, we’re celebrating Hamish, who completed an incredible Sunrise to Sunset 100km challenge last weekend in support of James’ Place 💙🏃‍♂️☀️ Hamish ran an amazing 100km and raised over £4,500 to help us continue providing life-saving support to men in suicidal crisis. An outstanding achievement which is enough to cover the cost of 40 therapy sessions with suicidal men — support that will no doubt help save lives. A huge thank you to Hamish for taking on this incredible challenge, raising awareness, and supporting our life-saving services. We’re so grateful for his dedication and determination 🎉 If you would like to take on a challenge to support James' Place work you can get in touch at [email protected]💙

We’re delighted to announce that James’ Place Birmingham is now officially open! His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales @princeandprincessofwales officially opened James’ Place Birmingham today at the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week. His Royal Highness met our new therapy team, men who have been helped at our other centres, as well as local supporters and donors who have helped bring James’ Place to Birmingham. We are now open to referrals from any suicidal men in the West Midlands. Men can self-refer or be referred to the centre by a professional including those working in health and community services, or by a friend or family member. We hope to be able to offer free, life-saving therapy to around 450-500 men in crisis in our first year. Birmingham is our fourth centre. It is located just outside the city centre, near Five Ways in the Edgbaston area, and easily accessible by public transport. To make a referral or find out more visit .uk. This year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘Action,’ and we are proud to be taking action to stop men dying by suicide in the West Midlands.  Here are some actions you can take to prevent suicide: ➡️ Check in on family and friends, especially if they have recently been through a challenging life event or you’ve noticed a change in their behaviour.  ➡️ If you are worried about someone, ask them directly if they are suicidal.  ➡️ Share our social posts so more people find out that life-saving support is available.  ➡️ Familiarise yourself with what support services are available in your area via the Hub of Hope app @chasingstigma . ➡️ Make a donation to support our life-saving work at .uk/action (🔗 link in bio). This #FundraisingFriday, we’re celebrating Joseph and Craig, who are hosting a Charity Golf Day on 26th May at Boldon Golf Course in support of James’ Place and the Liam and Chloe Together Forever Trust 💙⛳️ The duo have already raised just under £700 to help us continue providing life-saving support to men in suicidal crisis. An incredible achievement which is enough to cover the cost of nearly 15 initial assessments with a suicidal man — a vital first step in their recovery journey. A huge thank you to Joseph and Craig for organising this fantastic day, raising awareness, and supporting our life-saving services! You can donate to Joseph and Craig's fundraising via the link on our story 🎉

Some words of encouragement from some of the team to the wonderful @carryonagainkeith who is currently running from the Thames to the Tyne for us and is somewhere in East Yorkshire. He's running the equivalent of two marathons a day and has experienced a fair few challenges along the way! Thank you to TT2 Limited, operator of the Tyne Tunnels @tyne_tunnels , who will be hosting a welcome home event at the finish line on Monday 4th May and have donated £1,000 to Keith's challenge. All money raised by Keith will help us provide free, life-saving therapy to men in suicidal crisis.
