Earlier this month I had the pleasure of presenting at the Wellness Tourism Summit at Elements of Byron in the Northern Rivers. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring people in the industry and to share a little of what I’ve been working on and my approach towards architecture.
I spoke about some of the projects we’ve been developing, from hot spring hotels to bathhouses and public saunas. At the foundation of our studio’s work is the idea of creating spaces that truly nourish the well of our being; spaces that allow for connection to oneself as well as connection to others, and that bring a sense of rejuvenation and enlivenment to the human spirit.
A huge thank you to Katherine for organising such a wonderful gathering and bringing together such a remarkable group of people. I’m already looking forward to the next one.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF JUST ENOUGH
Talk & book launch of _Paul Couch, Field Studies_
at Kulttuurisauna in collaboration with HDW
Tuesday 9th of Sept 6pm
Event is free, capacity limited.
Co-authors architect James Mugavin and photographer Tom Ross will discuss their work on the book _Paul Couch, Field Studies_. It is the the first in-depth publication on the work and legacy of Couch, one of Australia’s most significant and elusive architects. Architect Tuomas Toivonen will moderate the talk and interview the authors about the book-making process, editorial choices and representation of architecture. Together, with the authors, we will look at Couch’s works through a specific lens, capturing landscape, materiality, and a humble architecture of just enough.
Guests are invited to stay for a drink following the talk.
I’m happy and proud to share a recently completed book project I’ve been working on with @tomross.xyz , @michaelroper_ , and @stuartgeddes - Paul Couch, Field Studies.
The project has been a privilege to work on, bringing together drawings, photographs, and writing on the work of Australian architect Paul Couch. His work spans over six decades, substantial and quietly significant, yet long overlooked, and it feels especially meaningful to help share his work with a broader audience.
The book is now available to preorder via @bookshop_by_uro .
I’ll also be speaking about the project with Tom as part of @helsinkidesignweek - join us at 6pm on Tuesday 9 September at @k_u_l_t_t_u_u_r_i_s_a_u_n_a in Helsinki.
