Full disclosure: two weeks ago my board had DJ Moore to Buffalo for a 3rd. Drew Dalman retiring wasn’t even in the universe of outcomes.
The offseason chaos has officially begun and I’m so very here for it.
After the holiday weekend, I’ve been sitting with some thoughts. What I witnessed as people celebrated or protested was that we are more alike than we’re lead to believe. Most people still love this country which is why they protest and celebrate. Most of us just want a better future for our families, our friends, and ourselves. We want a country that lives up to its promise and a government that sets aside its desire to build wealth and legacy and in turn remembers ALL the people it serves.
My first Instagram post…(never too late)
Last week, I experienced a very special moment, in which my youngest brother (who flew in from LA), @jamesmichaelbobby , my father-in-law, my uncle, and I golfed for a major fundraiser benefiting the @littlecityorg mission serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It meant the world to me to have these multiple worlds collide in one special moment that serves a purpose bigger than any one person.
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since Lilah Mae left us. I miss our walks and our adventures, our movie dates, our park & beach dates, the morning body slams, the stinky farts, and more than anything I miss her sass. I can’t imagine where I’d be without the love and support of so many friends that helped me through this past year without her. Especially @markiefarnsley and @drewvanacker who were with me and supported me until Lilah’s last breath. I’m eternally grateful for all of you. Keep Lilah in your thoughts today. May her memory live with us forever.
