Ahead of the release of the film #OneSpoonOfChocolate on May 1st, I want to take a moment to provide some important context.
The character I portray in this project does not reflect my personal beliefs or values. This role required me to step into the mindset of a deeply flawed individual, including delivering dialogue that contains explicit racial slurs and offensive language.
As an actor, my responsibility is to serve the story with honesty and authenticity—even when that truth is uncomfortable, difficult, or unsettling. In many cases, it is precisely that discomfort that gives the story its purpose and impact.
If certain moments in this film make you uneasy, that reaction is valid—and intentional. Stories like this are meant to confront realities, spark conversation, and challenge perspectives, not simply to entertain.
I’m proud to be part of a project that leans into truth, no matter how heavy, and I appreciate your openness in experiencing it as it was meant to be told.
