For the Maastro Clinics I have designed and painted two murals for their interior upgrade in the Venlo Hospital. This wall is one of them and it is a free design from my hand on the interior theme ‘Cherry’, which means that I have adapted in my designing process to the colour pallette that is also being used by the interior architect.
In that way everything now matches up with colors on other walls and several aspects of the previously re-designed spaces.

For the main room of a new Bed & Breakfast in Germany, I’ve designed and painted this “Jungle Mural”. With it’s height of over 4 meters (12ft) it definitely leaves a big impression to those who will stay at this amazing place.
It’s located in a fully renovated, very old farm. The Buddhist view of the commissioner was the main theme for this design and can be felt all over the place.

How those shoes look by the time they have to retire. Completely ruined by paint, walked almost completely flat inside - usually also almost falling apart on the edges.
And all of that within a timespan of no more then 9-12 months. This image… these shoes… they show a bit how tough the muralist business is regarding materials and what they have to endure.

One of fhe things I enjoy doing most, is when a certain part of a mural has all his basic colors, the fill, all the shadings and everything that define its proportion and characteristics and then…
To start to paint all the tiny details on top of those finished layers, which leaves absolute no space for error or mistakes. Because you will have to start the whole thing over again… entirely… if you make any failures.
No paint drops. No drips. No wrong colors on the wrong spot. Every single tiny little detail can only be put there once, and has to be spot on.
