Lei nunu’a lehua, lei kau lei Hā’ena. It seemed fitting to open Chief of War with these voices and celebrate what a moment this show is for Hawaiian storytelling and representation. The heart of the score is @kaumakaiwa , the powerhouse vocal groups she assembled, and the @po4fathers ‘ohana - not just in their performances, but for so graciously helping me weave traditional Hawaiian music into our cinematic world. @prideofgypsies and @paakai97 had such a powerful vision and I couldn’t be prouder to have helped bring it to life with @hanszimmer .
Behind the scenes we were supported by an incredibly dedicated music team - longtime collaborators and new friends - who threw everything at this score. My deepest appreciation to Doug Jung, Greg Spence, Tess Castro and everyone at Fifth Season, Bleeding Fingers and Apple who were just amazing to work with on this.

James Everingham is a British film and television composer and music producer based in Los Angeles. Known for his cinematic, emotionally driven scores, he has contributed music to a wide range of film, television, and interactive projects. Everingham has collaborated closely with composer Hans Zimmer and the Bleeding Fingers Music collective, working on productions including Frozen Planet II, The Blue Angels, Apollo: Missions to the Moon, and the Apple TV+ series Chief of War.
