The Heart Always Finds Its Way Home
I’ve chased horizons across different time zones and filled passports with stories, but there’s a specific kind of stillness you can’t find in a departure lounge.
The last few months spent working on Gomeroi, Kamilaroi, and Wiradjuri Country have shifted something in me. Travel used to be about what I could see; now, it’s about how I’m standing.
There’s a weight to this red earth that makes you feel more solid, more certain.
I’m moving with a different kind of gratitude lately—less about the destination, and more about the depth of the connection right under my feet.

Spent ANZAC day shooting with a mob business in Euabalong on Wiradjuri Country in central west NSW. I put the drone up to shoot the Lachlan River and there was thousands of Corella’s in the trees and flying around. They started flying around the drone and it meant I was able to get this shot. Pretty surreal experience.
Back out on Wiradjuri Country, pop Alfred’s mob 🤎 Capturing the raw, dusty beauty of an isolated lake from above. Nothing hits quite like this feeling.

Exploring the incredible Cranky Rock site on Gomeroi Country. The name might sound a bit weird—local signs tell a couple of wild tales, from an infamous 1800s legend to the fact that these massive, 240-million-year-old granite boulders just look “cranky” (meaning liable to capsize).
Talking with one of the elders, she told me about its darker, lesser known history and how her people were massacred near this site.
The signs don’t tell that yarn.

This is Din Din (Barron Falls). To the local Djabugay people, this powerful place has been a deeply significant cultural site for millennia. Surrounded by the oldest continuously surviving rainforest on Earth, the energy here is unmatched.

🛶 The Journey: We took a canoe out on the glassy lagoons with @semprevivaecoturismo . It’s the most peaceful way to see the Serra do Espinhaço range from the water.
🎨 The History: We visited archaeological sites to see Indigenous rock art. Standing in front of paintings that date back millennia is a humbling reminder of the Xacriabá and Xavante people who protected that land for 7000 years!
🐺 The Lore: Keep an eye out for the Lobo-guará (Maned Wolf). You’ll see references to this mystical, long-legged guardian all over the village.
Lapinha is a place of quiet magic, red dirt roads, and deep roots. It’s the side of Brazil that stays with you long after you leave. ✨
