50 days in Chicago
Snagged a crib straight out of my childhood dreams for these few months. Had some amazingly productive days and even more beautiful nights. Very grateful for this city and the friends I’ve made here. Now on the road again
a new year’s eve I’ll never forget..
our first 1,000+ person show and the largest room we’ve ever sold out. surrounded by all of the people who’ve been there since the beginning. playing grooves for you all as the clock striked midnight is something i will think about forever. the proper way to close out an absolutely unbelievable year.
some loosies from globetrotting through shanghai, tokyo, abu dhabi, bali, amsterdam, the utah desert, and the malibu mountains over the past few months.
After hundreds of days of reading daily headlines I had to see it for myself so I traveled solo for 29 hours via train, car and bus to get to Ukraine with nothing but some clothes and a camera.
These photos are from a bright morning in a city called Lviv near the Western border. I stayed in the center sharing a hostel room with 3 soldiers on leave and a Greek photographer. Citizens here continue to face Russian drone and missile attacks that have greatly surged in recent months. Just two days before I arrived multiple cruise missiles were shot down over the city by air defense systems. Despite the security concerns, the city stands as a vital humanitarian hub hosting displaced Ukrainians and receiving aid convoys that underscore its logistical importance. The ancient architecture continues to symbolize cultural resilience, supported by efforts to safeguard its incredible heritage.
This is the first time I’ve been to a country under martial law nonetheless under invasion from the world’s largest country. Despite this I shared laughs, hugs, and beers with Ukrainians doing their best to keep their day to day lives as normal as possible. The population relies on air raid sirens and a phone app to become aware of an imminent strike and when to seek shelter.
My adventure to Ukraine and the conversations I had there were among the most profound experiences I’ve had. Typing this caption on a train back to Poland feeling more grateful than ever for the privileges I’m so accustomed to.
slava ukrayintsi !
back in berlin and it remains undefeated
very little sleep and very much techno. unexpectedly meeting drake in berghain will go down as one of my all time top glitches in the simulation. huge thank you to @kylegeigermusic for the hospitality
spontaneous mission to egypt..
cairo is the largest city of the arab world (20 million deep) and easily has the most drastically different way of life I have experienced yet. spent the week getting lost in backstreets we had no business being in, eating meals I probably shouldn’t have, convincing clubs to let us dj through broken english, and having conversations with the very friendly egyptian people.
one for thy books
grateful for another beautiful night in the soldout warehouse. one of my favorite productions we’ve put together start to finish. I appreciate everyone who sweated it out with me.
onward!
