My grandfather gave me this car for my 16th birthday almost 22 years ago. My dad and I worked on it together regularly. I didn’t plan on waiting 20 years to get her back on the road but now it’s like seeing an old friend every time I drive it. After my dad passed it was the only thing I really wanted to hold onto and I hoped I could restore it someday as a way to remember my dad and grandpa. I think Bill & Gerald would be proud.
I will never forget driving to Salinas, CA on a Sunday night to see @knockedloosehc for the first time. @jakezimerman had told me I should check them out, so @cahilxbrandon and I drove 90 minutes from the Bay to see them play in a strange cantina bar. They went on at what felt like 11pm and there were 30 kids there losing their minds, moshing like they were ready to go war. Since then they’ve never stopped pushing themselves to be great for no other reason than that they love hardcore and wanted to see how far they could go. I am so proud, thankful and honored to have been along for the journey. I cried a little today when we got the news they had been nominated for a Grammy. Awards shows are silly but I can’t help but be emotional about some guys from Louisville on a bedroom record label on the biggest stage in music. A cool moment to say the least.
