A rare 10 minutes my wife and I can sit and have a meal together, supplied by our bride and groom.
Wife is a beast - drove straight from work at the lab to today’s wedding to make the best event bubble tea in Melbourne.
Afterwards, she went straight home to continue her duties and care for our daughter.
Congratulations Eda & Tony! Thank you for providing us with a meal, and gifting us those 10 minutes.

I hate baking with a passion. Baking sucks.
And geez, the unhealthy TON of fat and sugar that goes into these things… Lucky the birthday girl doesn’t know how to eat just yet.
Here’s 7 tips for other hopeless bakers:
1. Whipping butter for buttercream needs at least 5 MINUTES. Do NOT rush or skip these 5 minutes! Let the colour of the butter go from yellow to white. Otherwise it’s gross and not spreadable.
2. Do NOT assume all ingredients gets mixed in evenly. Do NOT skip sifting flour or sugar. It’s essential: otherwise the cake is too sweet and clumpy, icing is grainy.
3. For even baking with far less sinking, use anodised aluminium loose base pans. I recommend Fat Daddio’s brand. Do NOT use dark non-stick springform cake pans. They’re sooooo shit.
4. Your oven is a liar: use an oven thermometer you can put in next to the cake.
5. White chocolate ganache NEEDS white food colouring. It’s an unappealing yellow otherwise.
6. Get yourself a dedicated cake turntable and a small offset pallet knife for decorating. Your neck and back will thank you.
7. Allow your wife to fix up your stupid cake, while you do the mountain of things to clean.
