The Supreme Court has directed the Rajasthan government to introduce Rajasthani as a subject in all government and private schools across the state. The move is aimed at promoting mother tongue-based education and preserving Rajasthanās rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
The court has also asked the state government to formulate a time-bound policy for implementing Rajasthani language education at the primary, secondary, and higher education levels. A compliance report on the progress must be submitted by September 30, 2026.
