Welp, I joined 2/3s of the SBay at the BeachLife festival yesterday… and if it weren’t for my awesome friends Byron and @lorimcmack , I would have bailed out early😅 it was a great day and I saw so many people that I adore, but I’ve proven to myself that I prefer intimate music performances over this scenario🙃 I also didn’t take out my phone much, so thanks for documenting Lori🥰 proof that I actually socialize! A fine #modelmonday it is for some body positivity.
When I first saw these images, I was horribly hard on myself… judging every body, face, skin, hair etc flaw I noticed. I’m guessing way more than you see😅 and then I took a breath and thanked my body for the trials it’s carried me though in these (almost) 52 years on Earth.
That helped me view my physique as extraordinary instead of inadequate.
Do I want more muscle tone? Then I need to hit the weights and put in some, any(!), cardio work. I can clean up my diet, stop drinking alcohol, and my body will change.
But I’ve been choosing to live freely! Allowing my body more relaxation time after decades of pushing it, letting my senses experience more joy than restriction. I’m enjoying myself 🤗
There are always sacrifices and choices to be made.
I’m choosing to love my body through whatever ups and downs it has left to go through. I find it much easier than the constant anxiety involved with worrying I’m ’not good enough’…
Shine on! We are all stars in our own ways, so celebrate you, and find gratitude for your gifts!

This is one of the toughest exercises for my body! I was stoked to find I could do it at all! My Pilates peeps will notice the difference between the sides, and the other things that need fine tuning 😅🤫 but we do the best we can with what we’ve got right?! Right! And then we take steps to get to where we want to be… with enough time, one day we arrive at our desired destination. But the work must be put in!
