No signature style. Just a signature approach. At Jaffe Architecture, every project begins with understanding how you want to live.
From contemporary homes in Chicago to timeless North Shore residences and relaxed Southwest Michigan retreats, each project reflects a different client, lifestyle, and vision.
Our role is not to impose a look. It’s to listen, refine, and create a home that feels deeply personal, beautifully resolved, and built to last.
If you’re thinking about creating a home that feels distinctly yours, we’d love to start the conversation.
Indoor–outdoor. All year.
More than a seasonal porch, this space was designed for year-round living. Concealed vinyl shades descend seamlessly at the touch of a button, extending the use of the screened porch through changing weather and colder months.
Paired with the terrace and fire feature beyond, the result is a warm modern home deeply connected to its landscape.
If you’re imagining a home that feels connected to nature in every season, we’d love to hear about it.

Every closet tells a story. This one is about clarity, calm, and personal function—shaped by understanding how our clients live. What gets hung, folded, displayed, or tucked away informs every inch.
In this Lincoln Park renovation, the goal was a serene, dust-free dressing space with visibility and flow. Glass-front full-height cabinetry, integrated lighting, and custom storage create a closet that feels both beautiful and effortless.
Luxury is not always loud. Sometimes it’s simply knowing exactly where everything belongs.
Thoughtful homes begin with listening. Let’s connect.

We always knew this bathroom would be special, with a view like this.
Overlooking Lake Michigan and set among the trees, @andreagoldmandesign calls it The Treehouse. @jaffearchitecture calls it Ravine Reimagined.
Whatever you call it, it’s stunning.
Designed for living beautifully, with an ease that feels effortless.

Reimagining a challenging site takes more than vision. It takes careful planning, collaboration, and a deep understanding of how architecture can respond to the land.
For Ravine Reimagined, the existing home sat too close to the ravine edge, limiting usable outdoor space and disconnecting the home from the beauty of the landscape. With nearly 25 feet of grade change across the property, every move mattered.
One of the most transformative moves was flipping the driveway approach and reworking the arrival sequence to better engage the site’s steep topography. A new parking court framed by retaining walls clad in handmade Danish brick from creates a more intentional entry experience while helping the architecture feel grounded within the landscape.
By thoughtfully repositioning the new custom home farther from the ravine edge, we were able to create an expansive terrace, screened porch, and backyard lawn—spaces the original home simply could not support.
The result is a warm modern North Shore residence that feels connected to the ravine rather than constrained by it. Views, light, circulation, and outdoor living were all shaped by the land itself.
At Jaffe Architecture, we believe thoughtful site design is just as important as the home that sits upon it.

Some moments stay with you long after the drawings are done.
As architects, there are details we imagine for months—studying proportion, materiality, light, and how each element comes together. Seeing those ideas finally take shape in the built work is always rewarding.
These are a few of our favorite moments from Ravine Reimagined, a custom single-family home in Highland Park, IL. The warmth and craftsmanship of Accoya wood by @deltamillworks paired with handcrafted Danish brick from @petersentegl helped bring depth, texture, and character to every view.
From the first sketch to the final installation, these are the moments that remind us why details matter and why we love being architects.

A full reset for this primary bath.
What began as an outdated space was stripped back entirely and rebuilt with intention. The focus was on improving flow, refining the layout, and introducing a timeless palette that feels calm and cohesive.
From demo day to final installation, each step was carefully considered so the end result supports daily life with ease.
If you’re thinking about a renovation, we’d be glad to connect.

A kitchen shaped by light, landscape, and how it’s used every day.
In this Harbor Country home in Southwest Michigan, the kitchen is positioned to take full advantage of the wooded setting. A wall of windows at the range frames the landscape beyond, bringing in soft, filtered light and a constant connection to nature.
The layout balances function and flow. A long island anchors the space, designed for cooking, gathering, and everyday routines. Clean-lined cabinetry keeps the focus on material and proportion, while integrated appliances and concealed storage maintain a sense of calm.
A hidden pantry is seamlessly tucked behind vertical nickel gap paneling, detailed to disappear into the architecture. When closed, it reads as part of the wall. When opened, it reveals a highly functional workspace just beyond.
Every move was intentional. Light, circulation, and storage working together to support effortless living.

A primary suite in the trees.
From the earliest concepts, this moment was clear. The primary suite belongs at the intersection of ravine and lake, where both views can be felt at once. Anchored by an expansive corner window that frames the depth and texture of the ravine, with Lake Michigan just beyond.
Rooted in place, realized through collaboration between @jaffearchitecture , @andreagoldmandesign , and the homeowners.
