🚨 NEWS FROM THE BATCAVE 🦇‼️ icymi: this is real lol. the fandom gods have answered this lil nerd’s prayers & let me write a Batgirl novel for DC BATGIRL: POSSESSION — a full-length YA thriller novel — out THIS NOVEMBER!! come for the sinister supernatural Gotham Academy murder mystery, stay for the story about a young girl learning to trust her intuition, even when everyone keeps telling her that she’s not important enough to be the hero of her own story 🦇 BATGIRL: POSSESSION comes out during spooky szn and for good reason bc this book gets WEIRD. there is one paragraph in particular in climax that is quite possibly the scariest most twisted freaky disturbing thing i’ve ever written (welcome to gotham, bb ✌🏾!!) but like all my books, there’s also a lot of heart and humor in here too. plus a healthy amount of ~drama~ btwn Batgirl and Robin (dick grayson ofc ❤️‍🔥) bc these two are just friends & definitely NOT DATING (👀) even tho everyone thinks they are… & Robin is down bad but sparks a major argument btwn them… & while they’re beefing, the prime suspect’s brother really needs Batgirl’s help and turns out to be pretty sweet once you get to know him soooo… yeah. there 👏🏾will 👏🏾 be 👏🏾 angst 👏🏾 but mostly a whole lot of Batgirl KICKING BUTT & TAKING NAMES 😤 🦇 i am beyond excited to contribute to the story of an iconic character like Barbara Gordon with such a fascinating cultural history. i love her & i hope you will too. pre-order links are up & ready to go on amazon, BN, and all the usual suspects. link in bio. wrote about the process of writing this book a bit more in my substack newsletter, so check that out if you’re curious. my personal summer prep reading list for the upcoming school year 🥰📖 it feels like a privilege to teach US History/American Lit this fall given…well… *gestures wildly* everything. i’ll be teaching excerpts from most of these (plus many more not pictured), but we will be reading 4 of these gems in entirety as a class.
