This Saturday I had the pleasure of attending a film handling and projection course from the folks at @slindoncinema@the_cinema_museum with support from @dirt_in_the_gate_movies and @kodak_shootfilm
I had the chance to get hands-on handling, prepping and splicing film, learning the vast history of film projection, as well as lacing and projecting the final reel of Willy Wonka on the Slindon Cinema projector. Very fun racking and focusing the frame, as well as seeing the similarities lacing in a projector compared to a film camera
It's so important to preserve the knowledge that's rapidly being lost, and I can't wait to take what I've learnt and keep practising and improving and hopefully one day imparting more knowledge, so that we can keep film alive and keep watching it projected in cinemas for years to come

Pre-birthday adventure day with my favourite. I'm the luckiest. I didn't take enough photos because I was too busy having so much fun. But I was treated to 7 Japanese surprises all over London!
Had the pleasure of focus pulling a lot more this year (sometimes for survival, sometimes for the joy of it), in some beautiful places, with some fantastic people. This building was a highlight. Still love a long-form loading gig though, if you're ever in need. Ok, bye for another 10 months x
It's been a really tough year for me work wise and it's been hard to see a way through it. But when I stop and take a moment, I realise I'm so blessed for the few jobs I've had. A highlight was waking up to this after camping in the back of my tiny van for 6 weeks on Father Brown. It almost feels like coming home, and I'm forever grateful for the crew that ask for me back, and I can't wait to see you all again
