Jacobsen Arquitetura in the series Architects, Brazil Season. Heir to a trajectory begun by Paulo Jacobsen in 1976 and today led in partnership with Bernardo Jacobsen and Edgar Murata, the studio has built, over decades, one of the most consistent bodies of work in contemporary architecture. Wood, stone, light, shadow. Houses that do not impose themselves on the land, that settle into it. Their projects span Brazil, from beaches and mountains to forests and cities, and reach farther afield with works in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. Each residence is unique, yet all carry the same signature: architecture as a continuation of the landscape, not an interruption of it. The series is a way into the creative work of the Jacobsen studio. It shows the thinking before the drawing, the decisions inside the studio, the sensitivity that defines the work of Paulo, Bernardo, Edgar, and their entire team. The private premiere takes place on May 28, at @palaciotangara , a hotel framed by the gardens of Parque Burle Marx, in São Paulo. SOON | Set against the backdrop of the Bay Area’s rolling mountains, the house was designed to frame the horizon. Large openings connect the interiors to the surrounding landscape, bringing natural light and the changing atmosphere of the valley into everyday life. - EM BREVE | Com as montanhas da região da Baía de São Francisco como pano de fundo, a casa foi projetada para emoldurar o horizonte. Há elementos que definem a casa antes mesmo do primeiro gesto à mesa. No centro do projeto, o bar e a escada foram pensados como presença escultórica. A mesma pedra que percorre esses elementos aproxima o espaço de uma matéria que remete ao fogo, à lava e à força mineral que sustenta a identidade do Lavva. A fluidez do desenho aparece em toda a planta. Curvas, nuances e volumes arredondados conduzem o olhar sem ruptura, fazendo com que escada, balcão e paredes componham uma arquitetura de movimento contínuo. Aqui, a forma não apenas acolhe. Ela organiza a experiência. _____ There are elements that define the house even before the first gesture at the table. At the center of the project, the bar and the staircase were conceived as sculptural presences. The same stone that runs through these elements brings the space closer to a materiality that evokes fire, lava, and the mineral force that sustains Lavva’s identity. The fluidity of the design appears throughout the floor plan. Curves, nuances, and rounded volumes guide the eye without interruption, allowing the staircase, counter, and walls to form an architecture of continuous movement. Here, form does more than welcome. NEW PROJECT | Lavva Restaurant was conceived as a stage, with fire as a central element, where architecture, materiality, and experience build an immersive narrative. The tables, equipped with grills at their center, transform the act of eating into a participatory ritual, reclaiming a more instinctive and collective dimension of the meal. Rustic walls evoke the land in its rawest state, while the charred wood ceiling directly references fire. The concept draws on the idea of the human as a hunter, in connection with natural elements. - NOVO PROJETO | O Restaurante Lavva foi concebido como um palco, com o fogo como elemento central, onde arquitetura, materialidade e experiência constroem uma narrativa imersiva. As mesas, equipadas com grelhas no centro, transformam o ato de comer em um ritual participativo, resgatando uma dimensão mais instintiva e coletiva da refeição. As paredes rústicas evocam a terra em seu estado mais bruto, enquanto o teto de madeira carbonizada faz referência direta ao fogo. From its strategic placement on the site to the integration of materials, volumes, and interiors, CCR House is conceived to meet the family’s evolving needs over time. - NOVO PROJETO | Localizada nos arredores de São Paulo, a Residência CCR foi projetada para estabelecer uma forte relação com a paisagem circundante.
