Zine-Making in the Grand Lobby w/ Zoe Dubin from Rochester Zine Scene! This will be an ongoing activity running throughout the day. 🍿 11AM - Pop’s Art Theater will have their signature popcorn toppings to satisfy all your popcorn desires in the Grand Lobby! 🎵 11:30AM - Live Ambient Music w/ Jacob Smithburg! 🎨 12PM - The Southeast Minnesota High School Art Exhibition Reception on the 3rd floor! 💫 1PM - Artist & Docent led tours on the 2nd floor! 🎥 2PM - A 2hr Screening of short films in the Grand Lobby featuring oh so many Midwestern filmmakers! ‼️🚨 NEW INSTALLATION DROPPING 🚨‼️ i have a piece in the @rochartcenter cyclone / history center centennial exhibition ! titled PROP1 a response to pieces of IBM history and a reflection on how the evolution of the computer ending up within workplaces has in some part influenced and led to a sense of conformity and the death of the individual. the flattening of vibrant work culture has killed curiosity through low effort complexities by increasing ease of access in this age of limbic capitalism. this flatenning has become a tyranny, and if this commodification continues we could deny ourselves the right to make our own decisions and rob us of countless fulfilling moments. let the media adapt to YOU. THE USER TAKES CONTROL. the piece is an interactive set of cubicles where you can influence and manipulate my anti-corporate interpretive dances as they display alongside archival IBM footage on vintage CRT monitors as you listen to my bespoke tunes. all powered / running in real-time utilizing @touchdesigner ¡! the exhibition opens october 26th @ the Rochester Art Center opening reception on november 6th @ 4PM
