Sam is a legend
That will live on in my book and every dancers book as someone who could spread love around a room with ease. His classes and movement was more than just steps it was, vulnerability and release. He curated one of those spaces where all of your problems would go away because he was so captivating and kind. After talking to him whenever and about whatever I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders no matter what we would talk about weither it was about dance or about how bad the Knicks were doing that season.
You were my big brother no doubt about it. Helped me keep my head up high through tough times, and you saw something in me that i hadn’t seen in my self yet and I never knew what it was. I’m so grateful to have danced next to you for all of these years and to have witnessed the impact that you have had on others the same way you have impacted me. You shared your gift and presence with the world which was something so beautiful to see. You inspired me Sam Javi dancing or not. Your being and your presence could be noticed in a heart beat.
To my big brother
I am definitely gonna miss our talks and laughs and watching you do those demos to show the class what you were cooking up in your mirror or in your basement. You meant the world to me and to the community. I am so grateful that one of your favorite forms of art brought us together.
I will never forget the way I looked at you and Pauline. my first dance parents two beautiful souls so deep into a connection that moved the room whenever yall were together.
From now on I will carry you with me 🫂
