2023 Asian Pacific African Powerlifting Championships, Hong Kong 74KG Open: Overall 3rd place, Deadlift 3rd place BW: 73.08kg Total: 580kg (+2.5) 8/9 attempts Squat: 190/200/205 (+2.5) Bench: 112.5/120/122.5X Deadlift: 240/250/255 IPF GL: 85.70 (+0.5) DOTS: 423.17 (+2.9) Over 6 years of powerlifting, I realized getting better is hard. My total hasn’t materially improved for ~3 years. But I learned other things: How to be consistent. How to autoregulate. How to fight. This week I also learned that if you optimize, strategize, and execute, once in a while things will fall into place. Projected 4th in a very competitive category necessitated both preparation and luck. Thankfully I had both. While travel stress and weight cutting meant minimal PRs, Coach had me disciplined and conservative in attempt selection. Patience paid off as I was 6th going into deadlifts, but managed to pull my way into 3rd place after going 8/9 and being the only person to make their 3rd deadlift attempt. This was a truly special experience, one I didn’t think I’d have the chance to be a part of. Thank you to @powerliftingsingapore for the nomination, to my coach @barbellsandcats of @sincere.pl for years of investment, @journeytodwes for handling, and of course my parents and @a_silvermtzion for their support. This account will probably be inactive going forward, thanks for watching!

Two weeks out! . Had a positioning mishap on day 2 that messed with my back - details below. Protecting positioning and progressions . Day 1: Comp Squat: 3/3 176x4@8 Larsen Press: 1/3 100x3@9 . Day 2: benched first on life fitness rack bc comp equipment was being used. The rack is a little high & caused me to lose tightness- cramped my lower back pressing top set, which then interfered with DL Comp Bench: 2/4 [email protected] - back view for elbows Comp DL: 3/3 200x5@8 . Day 3: Comp Squat: 1/4 192@8 Comp Bench: 1/5 98x5@8 Tried to get front elbow view but failed . Day 4: comp DL: 1/3 [email protected] Comp Bench: 1/4 [email protected]
