Over 6 years of powerlifting, I realized getting better is hard. My total hasn’t materially improved for ~3 years.
But I learned other things: How to be consistent. How to autoregulate. How to fight.
This week I also learned that if you optimize, strategize, and execute, once in a while things will fall into place.
Projected 4th in a very competitive category necessitated both preparation and luck. Thankfully I had both.
While travel stress and weight cutting meant minimal PRs, Coach had me disciplined and conservative in attempt selection.
Patience paid off as I was 6th going into deadlifts, but managed to pull my way into 3rd place after going 8/9 and being the only person to make their 3rd deadlift attempt.
This was a truly special experience, one I didn’t think I’d have the chance to be a part of.
Thank you to @powerliftingsingapore for the nomination, to my coach @barbellsandcats of @sincere.pl for years of investment, @journeytodwes for handling, and of course my parents and @a_silvermtzion for their support.
This account will probably be inactive going forward, thanks for watching!
