His father Michael won silver at the 1984 Olympics and as one of Britainās greatest Olympic hopes, there had been expectation that Jack Whitaker would make the cut for Team GB in Paris.
āThere are so many different achievements [in showjumping] but you want to be world number one, you want to go to the world championships and you want to be Olympic championā, the showjumping scion tells Tatler.
So how did it feel when the September 2024 cover star saw his Olympic journey coming to an end, weeks before Paris even started?

Looking outside of your own sport can give you a totally new perspective. It was a privilege to visit @christianhorner to talk about the similarities between @f1 and show jumping! His passion and understanding of horses meant he was able to draw many comparisons and it was really valuable to share his experience and expertise.
Thank you to @christianhorner , @redbullracing , @bbcsport and @james_burridge

Will Whitaker win again at Windsor? šš

šA training favourite from YRA alumnus Jack Whitaker!
The ā50pā exercise might look simple, but itās one of the most versatile setups you can build in your arena. By arranging poles or jumps in an octagon, you create endless options to train both horse and rider.
What you can work on:
⢠straight lines with adjustable distances
⢠dog-leg lines to improve control and planning
⢠90° turns to develop balance and responsiveness
⢠stride adjustments between different lines
⢠consistency in rhythm and connection
Itās an exercise that grows with you. From young horses learning coordination to experienced ones refining rideability, it challenges you to think ahead and ride every line with intention.
One setup. Unlimited solutions.
Which line would you ride first?
