So thankful we are able to pursue our passion for both art and music. When the day is done and the gallery closes we are able to go over to Red Rhino and either listen to great music from Manila’s top bands or on occasion perform with our own band. Monday night May 18 at Red Rhino is one such evening. Our band ROCKITWELL will be performing favorite songs through the 70s and 80s, classic rock anthems and for those who like to dance - dance music. Pls join us as we do our Timeless Hits selection. A few years before our golden anniversary homecoming several of our batchmates got together to form the core of the ROCKITWELL band (picture 1 is the original band as it was. Picture 2 shows frontman Tony Atayde, Rene Narciso, Kiko Perfecto, Mel Solis, Dindo Ibazeta and Jack Teotico). We actually got to play in front of our alumni and rocked the night away. The band went on to continue playing in various venues such as Musica, 19 East, 12 Monkeys, Pier 1 and currently at Red Rhino where the band is a regular. There have been some personnel changes from the original batchmates as vocalists Tony Atayde and Osbu Banico passed, percussionist Ray Reyes became president of The Aristocrat chain, guitarist Kiko Perfecto had some health issues while Mel Solis moved back to the US. Rene, Dindo and I stayed on with the new generation members of the band. Monday May 11 at Red Rhino promises to be an interesting night because Mel is back in Manila and Kiko is recovered. So together with the new Rockitwell some of the originals are back giving the band that flexibility to do our classic rock songs to add to the 80s and 70s hits and dance songs that the current band performs. Aside from art, music has been one of our greatest passions. I remember since days in high school to college all the way through to our working years i would stay up till past midnight listening to the radio or our vinyl record player. I enjoyed music from different genres and styles from classic rock to 80s, 70s and 90s music to senti songs, OPM, crossover to even reggae music. Its great that we were able to get together with like minded buddies like Doc Gilbert de la Cruz, @dindo.ibazeta@narciso_rene@rannie.z.raymundo@jeffoenriquez and my younger brother @jimmyteotico . We put up a music bar called @redrhinoresto . Its been an amazing journey ever since. Red Rhino’s been a watering hole, a sanctuary, an events place and the venue where we link up with old friends and buddies. We all get to hang out and enjoy the one thing we all love. MUSIC. Come join us.

Three days of competition. Only a week apart. Sunday March 8 Gymnastics competition. Saturday March 14 Swimming Competition. Sunday March 15 Philippine cup gymnastics competition. Two of them happening in successive days last Saturday and Sunday. Our little champ did us her parents and her school proud. Very proud 💕❤️. 🎉 💐 🏅
BAGETS! Watched the musical BAGETS recently at the Newport Performing Arts Theater with the staff. What an interesting nostalgic revival of the 1984 hit movie. This is a true winner depicting authentic Filipino teenage life. Another great project directed by the highly talented and accomplished Maribel Legarda who also directed Rak of Aegis and One More Chance and Silver Lining.
