I’m so Excited to finally share all of our teams hard work with the world as Coastguard : Search and Rescue SOS series 3 premieres tonight at 9pm on channel 5, on weekly for the next 8 weeks.
I’ve spent 8 months across the last two years working as a shooting assistant producer with Middlechild productions for channel 5. Having the immense pleasure of producing the stories of and filming with hundreds of the brave and talented members of the Maritime and Coastguard up and down the UK and across every aspect of the agency.
Not many (people myself included before working on this show) know just how much the coastguard agency does to keep our country and people safe. From the Helicopter rescue teams to inspectors investigating deaths, modern slavery and auditing dangerous boats. To counter pollution planes and reconnaissance to an ops centre handling massive amounts of the countries emergency calls.
Or the volunteer coastal rescue teams who I can’t thank enough for brining me into their teams and welcoming filming to show the work these heroes do.
As all over the uk’s coastlines volunteer teams come together 24/7 365 days a year to save people’s lives and are first aid trained experts in mud, flood and cliff rescues all on top of the business of their regular lives.
It’s been an absolute privilege to be apart of something so special with such an amazing team. Hopefully we can continue to keep on showing the amazing work of the coastguards onto series 4 and beyond.
