A Beautiful Crew. Some behind the scenes moments from filming A Beautiful Tomorrow, a USC Social Change film set in a future with unbreathable air. It took a volunteer crew of over 60 people to make this thing. They worked their butts off and made a pretty cool movie, @thescifishort . Photos by @mcfilmphotography | Drone photo by @vichiekunkun
Wish @jackstarr_23 good cluck, he’s gonna need it 🐔
Jack Starr is a writer, director, and editor drawn to strange, off-kilter stories about obsessive characters, messy group dynamics, and the uneasy humor of social discomfort. He loves both grounded, gritty worlds and stories that blur into the surreal—shaped by myth, folklore, and history. Before USC, he studied social psychology at Yale and spent two years cutting his teeth as a commercial Assistant Director in NYC.
When he’s not on set or in the edit bays, he’s coaching lacrosse, reading dark fiction, or pretending there’s a practical reason for reorganizing his bookshelf by color.
What gets him clucking? Audiences squirming in their seats, perfectly slated takes, and a family-sized basket of chicken tenders—with a side of fryer oil.
Some stills and behind-the-scenes moments from my first psychological thriller, JUMP.
Many hands made this possible—and made it a blast.
